For longer than I've been in the real estate business I've been (among other things) interested in performance magic. It's one of the things I truly love to do. I've worked with and learned from some of the most talented and prolific magical minds of our day.
Simply put, magical performance (whether it's pulling a coin from a kid's ear or a full blown stage illusion show in front of a large audience) is all about helping someone experience joyful moments of wonder and astonishment!
Here in the beautiful Catskill Mountain Region one experiences magical moments of astonishment on a daily basis. I'm not speaking of the "pick-a-card, any card" type of magical astonishment. I'm referring to those astonishing moments created and found in the natural magic of our lush, forested mountains and hillsides; the farmlands of patchwork quilt-like fields and meadows; miles and miles of massive and magnificent centuries old stonewall fences; ribbons of clear, fresh running, streams, brooks and spring-fed crystal clear ponds; and night skies so clear and bright, one can almost read by starlight. A peaceful place that's constant yet ever-changing from season to magical season.
Then, of course, there are the people. From those born and raised here to those who've relocated here to the growing numbers of second homeowners. These are the kind of people who are more likely than not to think of and help one another as "neighbors"- even if you live "up the road some" or "on the other side of the hill."
The following are some of the ways since 1983 that I've had the privilege to get to know, work, play, assist and combine efforts with many of these good people to the benefit of our communities:
- As President of the Greater Delhi Area Chamber of Commerce.
- As a founding member of the Amigo Search and Rescue K-9 Unit.
- As a participant fund raiser for O'Connor Hospital.
- As Grievance Committee Member for the Otsego/Delaware Board Of Realtors®
- As a coach for Pee Wee Soccer
- As a sponsor and umpire for Pee Wee Softball
- As a guest lecturer: Delaware Academy and SUNY DELHI
- As a supporter/contributor to the area's various arts groups
- As an Orpheus Theatre Cast Member
- As a major contributor to and Official Broker of the Belleayre Music Festival
- As a New York State, Dept. of State Certified Real Estate Instructor
In order to provide the highest standard of service I've kept current with important issues and the changing trends of the industry that may impact on our market area and thereby on my customers and clients. I continue to avail myself of courses and seminars on a regular basis and in fact have completed extensive educational requirements necessary to earn the GRI designation (Graduate Realtor® Institute) a designation obtained by less than 8% of all Realtors nationwide.
For six consecutive years I have been recognized by my peers as the over-all Top Producing Realtor® (an unprecedented accomplishment in the Board's long history) for having listed and sold more properties than any other Realtor®. Not a small achievement when one considers the number of Realtors® involved and the Board's vast geographic influence servicing Delaware, Otsego, Madison and Chenango Counties. Delaware County alone is about the size of the State of Rhode Island being over 75 miles from one end to the other.
In addition, I am proud and honored to accept the acknowledgment of an independent consumer survey conducted by The Catskill Mountain News ranking Frank Lumia Real Estate-Plus! as the #1 agency for Sales and Service. This accomplishment could only have been achieved through the dedicated combined efforts of a great group of highly competent, motivated and diverse individuals committed to earning our customers', and clients' business and loyalty!
